Essex and Wales collide when Gavin and Stacey fall in love and bring their friends, family and luggage with them. Apart from the scenes filmed on location in London in the first episode, the entire series was filmed in Wales, including the scenes set in the film. Essex. The house used as a boathouse (Gavin’s family) is in Dinas Powys, a village 1 mile northwest of Barry, where the Wests (Stacey’s family) live. Bryn and Gavin’s cars in series 3 also have completely different registration numbers than in the previous series. Gavin’s blue Saxo has changed from a T-reg (MY 1999) to an X-reg (MY 2000). Bryn’s green Picasso has changed from a CV02 (MY 2002, registered in Cardiff) to an HV54 (MY 2004, registered in Portsmouth). They are obviously different cars. Gavin & Stacey: Outtakes (2007). RunBy Stephen Fretwell Presented by Stephen Fretwell. I have to say I don’t quite understand the previous reviewer as I think they are on a different planet to anyone else and accordingly I felt the record needed to be set straight. Gavin & Stacey is one of the best comedies I have seen in years. With a wonderful cast and a brilliantly written script by Ruth Jones and James Cordon. The programme revolves around Gavin (an Essex boy) and Stacey (a Barry Island receptionist) who begin their relationship over the phone while they are at work. The feedback on the series has been so good that a second series has already been ordered.
