A modern-day tale of seeking fortune in the West Texas oil rig world. Watch writer-director Taylor Sheridan’s most popular movies and TV shows on IMDb, as rated by users. A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry, acts as a middleman between exploration companies and landowners. Generally, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and finalize deals with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. They basically control the land and obtain the leases so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, man-camp housing, oversee the assembly of mining machines, and the drilling of a mine, especially in remote locations. They are also parts repairers, troubleshooters, and facilitators. Quoted in CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode 44.24 (2022). For someone so focused on her goals, the inclusion of an emotionally unstable one-woman circus undermines the purpose of the show. Her character seems to distract from the central narrative and add unnecessary chaos rather than support her journey. The depiction does not enhance the story, it seriously hampers her determination and focus. Likewise, the roles of his wife and daughter seem out of place in the series. The wife seems emotionally unpredictable, while the daughter seems to lack intellectual depth, making her contribution to the plot irrelevant. The daughter’s portrayal seems particularly shallow, as her character only offers superficial engagement, which adds no value to the story. Furthermore, these characters constantly jump around in provocative clothing, seemingly for no reason at all. Aside from attracting attention, it seems out of step with the tone of the series. Rather than enhancing the plot or character dynamics, this approach is a superficial tactic to grab attention. It’s a strange and unnecessary addition that detracts from the overall quality of the narrative.
